@GardaTraffic Seems lenient for a clearly deliberate disregard for the rules, when it is the same fine for accidentally going 10km over the speed limit.

While out on patrol of the N7 near Kill, Co. Kildare at rush-hour this morning, Gardaí stopped this driver after he was seen dangerously whizzing past traffic by using the hard shoulder. He's been fined €80 and given two points. FYI: We don't set the penalties. #SaferRoads

@Rainmaker1973 I teach my own children these skills. I am a science teacher, and I find that we are expected to take over a parental role. Education should not be exclusive to teaching staff. Parents need to take more responsibility. I am speaking of my own experience as a parent and a teacher.

"I'll move when someone with a disabled permit wants to park." Gardaí down at Dollymount Beach in Clontarf over the weekend issued both these drivers with fines for using the disabled parking bay without a permit. Please respect disabled parking bays. #SaferRoads

This driver was so distracted by their phone that they completely ignored a stop sign and nearly hit the side of our very visible patrol car. They were stopped and they were issued FCPN. Please think of other road users and do not use your phone while driving. #SaferRoads
