#ThroughHerEyes It’s my birthday today and for the longest time I celebrated it with a kind of ambiguity. As one of tens of thousands of people born in Ireland’s mother and baby homes, I had so many gaps. Where was the woman who gave birth to me? How was she? What was her name? My name? Over the years those blanks have been gradually filled in – despite the many barriers erected by the State – and this year it seems to me that there’s nothing more important than embracing, with both hands, every single precious moment of our time on this earth. Life is magnificent – and such fun. Look at this photo from the gifted lens of Clare Keogh. We were speaking about the woman we would like to see represented in a portrait at @UCC.
