✝️ 🙏🏾 For the first time in 20 years, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church has died in office. Kelley Fox and Rev. Terry Williams are joined by Nicole Morino from @Catholic4Choice to remember the life & complex legacy of Pope Francis as the world processes his death.

Pope Francis brought the church forward on a whole host of social justice issues. At the same time, he was far from a perfect pope — and I think he’d be the first to admit that. However you are feeling about his death, we at @Catholic4Choice are holding space for you.

He was undoubtedly an agent of peace. We join with Catholics worldwide in mourning his passing, and we pray that the College of Cardinals will honor his legacy by choosing a successor who will continue his progressive path forward.”

We pray that the more compassionate and pastoral nature of his papacy continues to guide the church. The legacy of Pope Francis is a complicated one, but we remain grateful for all that he taught and the example he set for the world.
