When I was a child of ten I went down on my bare knees by my bedside one night and promised God that I should devote my life to an effort to free my country. I have kept that promise. As a boy and as a man I have worked for Irish freedom, first among all earthly things. I have helped to organise, to arm, to train, and to discipline my fellow-countrymen to the sole end that, when the time came, they might fight for Irish freedom. The time, as it seemed to me, did come, and we went into the fight. I am glad we did. We seem to have lost. We have not lost. To refuse to fight would have been to lose; to fight is to win. We have kept faith with the past, and handed on a tradition to the future. - Irish freedom fighter Pádraig Pearse, May 2 1916

Irish freedom fighter Padraig Pearse was executed on the 3rd of May 1916. These were his final words to his mother after receiving Communion: 'I just received Holy Communion. I am happy, except for the great grief of parting from you. This is the death I should have asked if God had given me the choice of all deaths—to die a soldier’s death for Ireland and for freedom. We have done right. People will say hard things of us now, but later on will praise us. Do not grieve for all this, but think of it as a sacrifice which God asked of me and of you. Good-bye again, dear mother. May God bless you for your great love for me and for your great faith, and may He remember all you have so bravely suffered. I hope soon to see papa, and in a little while we shall be all together again. I have not words to tell you of my love for you and how my heart yearns to you all I will call to you in my heart at the last moment. Your son, Pat'

Fr. Aloysius Travers OFM Cap. gave Communion to Pádraig Pearse before his execution on May 3rd 1916 The priest later wrote: ‘The bare cell was lighted from a candle at a small opening in the cell wall and I had barely light to read the ritual. But the face of the man, as he lifted it up to receive his God, seemed to beam with light’ Pearse inscribed his initials onto Fr. Aloysius’s crucifix before he was executed

When was the last time you saw a documentary about the Freemasons in this fashion Despite their huge numbers and influential members, there is not even a passing curiosity from journalists about Freemasonry in the same fashion as their hysteria about Opus Dei

LEBANON 🇱🇧 A war of words has broken out between the Israeli Defence Forces and the Catholic Church The IDF have admitted to damaging a convent in Lebanon but stated that it was because there were 'no external signs indicating it was a religious building' The church has rejected Israeli claims that the building was used by Hezbollah, stating: 'We are against all practices against places of worship and churches. These are places to spread peace, love and education. These are not military bases'

IRELAND 🇮🇪 'Journalist' Sarah Breen has been universally laughed at on social media after a deranged and petty diatribe in which she calls it 'happy news' that Catholic marriages are in decline 'A massive statue of a man nailed to a cross wearing a crown of thorns kind of kills the vibe' is one of the many overtly anti Catholic lines within the crazed rant against Catholicism that was published in today's Irish Independent

MOZAMBIQUE 🇲🇿 Bishop António Juliasse Ferreira Sandramo of Pemba has spoken out after JIHADISTS set fire to a church and burned it down The bishop described the attack by the ISIS linked group: “A scene of genuine terror. Everything was reduced to rubble. During the attack, civilians were captured and used as an audience for messages of hatred. The missionaries are safe, but the community is in shock the faith of this people will never be destroyed”
