At least that's the story that emerges according to data from CARA, which is based at Georgetown University. In 2012, there 3,694 students at the theologate level. In 2024, it was 2,686. A decline of ~27%.

Words are symbols that communicate meaning. It is a mind that must move from the symbols to what they signify.
So then, how do you know whether your own interpretation of Scripture reflects the mind of God (1 Cor 2:16) absent a publicly visible confirmation from divinely protected Authority that is vindicated by miracles?
Are you content to instead ground the minutia of your faith on a gut feeling, which you hopefully attribute to be coming from the Holy Spirit, as others who disagree with you do the same with their respective gut feelings?
Would the Holy Spirit not also provide externally visible signs when He is guiding something? If a certain Christian institution consistently had more miracles than yours, would that mean anything to you and your choice of Authority to recognize?
