Pope Leo is such a character. You could tell he was enjoying himself as he planted a tree in Hippo, cheerfully brushing off the dirt from his hands afterward. In Hippo, Saint Augustine battled heresies and defended the unity of the Church; today, Pope Leo prayed here for peace and unity.
