This is not only a beautifully written farewell announcement. This is a beautiful mind leaving one of the most meaningful university projects the Catholic world has every produced. @Stephen_P_White brought research about the abuse crisis on a different, and global - level. You’ll be dearly missed and Godspeed for the next adventure with the Knights! You’re leaving some teammates, especially the great @SaraPerla8 with a great heritage to carry (and not a small void in our Catholic Project hearts) Thank you Steve! Also for making me part of the @CatholicProj - and a semester turned lifetime friendships.

Big news as @CatholicProj inaugural director @Stephen_P_White shares that he is leaving to become director of the nearby St. JPII Shrine. Under White, TCP has been a pivotal contributor to the Church in America, w/ major studies of US priests, child protection initiatives, etc

While the religiously unaffiliated are on the rise globally, something curious is also happening: Some dioceses have reported significant upticks in adults preparing to enter the Catholic Church this Easter. osvnews.com/easter-boom-us…

The Vatican appeals tribunal declared a mistrial in the Holy See’s big “trial of the century,” a blow to both Pope Francis’ legacy and Vatican prosecutors who had put a cardinal and several other people on trial over alleged financial crimes. apnews.com/article/vatica…

Catholic marriages have fallen 75% (!!) since 1970. David Crawford of the JP2 Institute (and a member of @CLHP_CUA's Advisory Council) notes that whatever ails the wider culture eventually weakens Catholic families. Of course that cultural story is also a legal one — no-fault divorce, the decoupling of marriage from parentage, granting of quasi-legal status to cohabitants, and the list goes on. Further drop in US married households spurs call to action for Church leaders - osvnews.com/further-drop-i…
