All Protestant denominations come from the Catholic Church, whether they accept it or not. So long as they retain those Catholic roots, they’ll always be connected to the Catholic Church in some real, albeit imperfect, way. What are those Catholic roots?
1. Trinitarian Baptism and belief in the Trinity.
2. Belief in the Incarnation that Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully Man.
3. Adhering to the 27-book New Testament.
4. Belief in original sin and the Atonement of Jesus Christ on the cross.
5. Worship on Sundays.
6. Celebrating December 25 for Christmas
7. Celebrating Easter according to the Roman Catholic dating method.
Feel free to list other commonalities below.👇🏻
Some Protestant Fundamentalists might try to deny this connection, but unless they abandon the above commonalities, they can’t get away from it. Their exterior may be Protestant, but the core of their Faith is Catholic, whether they like it or not, and whether they accept it or not. Most Protestants are okay with this. For some, however, it’s a hard cope.
