@ReubenR80027912 The worst part is when you ask for feedback from an individual and the response is clearly "I didn't read it, i fed it into an AI" If I wanted the clanker feedback, I would've sent it to the clanker myself.

Over the last 6 months we’ve had a big push for CoPilot & the result has been: *huge* increases in production…of stuff I’m never gonna read Getting memos *obviously* written by AI (format & content) makes me actively despise the person. Maybe a “me” problem but (1/2)

I really think the biggest danger from AI is the slopification of our minds. We should be quite socially penalising of people who produce slop, especially if they're high status (like the CEO of one of the most successful young companies), because when high status ppl do things, they're much more likely to get normalised.

@FrMatthewLC @TARSRel0aded But I also think people trying to say this is bad that there is an appeal process are really missing the forest for the trees. Tempting as it might be, we do not want separate judicial structures just for the SSPX. That just feeds the narrative of a persecution.

@EamonnClark @FrMatthewLC @TARSRel0aded That's probably a PR statement. The actual appeals were probably on account of the six bishops, and likely a few priests in the Society who were subsequently impacted (such as the Superior General) I'd guess.

@FrMatthewLC @TARSRel0aded Yeah there's a chance you will see some subsequent decrees "verifying" confessions and marriage privileges were revoked, but that's about all you're going to see in the appeal. The excommunication is 100% going to stand.

@OVTweetmarck Its one of the greatest laugh lines in a movie period. Just the absolute confidence with which he says it.

I could make a full time ministry out of just correcting the use of the term Modernism (and its permutations) on this site. Libs: Everyone I hate is Hitler. Cons: Everyone I hate is a DEI hire. Trads: Everyone I hate is a Modernist.

Forget making your money back... is Marathon even making enough money to pay server upkeep at this point?

@Robkearney1981 @MLJHaynes The issue is not "if he chooses to" but whether or not he has in fact done so. The appeal should fail, and rightly so (though I think there is a possibility the confessions thing might pose tricks), but the idea Rome should follow its own laws when punishing is not a bad thing

@MLJHaynes This is an attempt at nonsensical, legalistic trickery on the SSPX's part. They act as if the Church is ruled by an unchangeable Canon law when, in reality, these rules have been created by previous popes and can all be altered or undone by the current one if he chooses to.

JUST IN: The SSPX has filed a “preliminary recourse” against the Vatican decree of excommunication Submitted on July 11, in line with Canon 1734 It thus temporarily suspends the Vatican penalty against them: “This request, which constitutes the mandatory preliminary step before the possible introduction of a hierarchical recourse, has the effect of suspending the execution of the decree, in accordance with canon 1353 of the Code of Canon Law.”

We mustn’t blame sacraments for sin. The holy sacrifice of the Mass is not a problem. The TLM isn’t responsible for some people rejecting Vatican II or papal authority.
Mike Lewis@mfjlewis

At a time when the Tridentine Mass is so clearly associated with schism and resistance to the pope, how is "we need more of this, not less" any kind of rational response to the problem? Sure, accommodate those who are attached, but for the Church it's past time to move on.

I'm reminded of a senior editor at a major Catholic publisher who responded to Michael Voris coming out "well now we know why he received communion on the tongue" Or David Lafferty's wild misogyny about women who receive communion kneeling/on tongue having an oral fixation.
Dave MacDonald@davidgmac9

@CatholicSmark @josephnollasj My experience may not be accurate but every time I hear a Catholic espouse vile antisemitism, cries that every woman in church dresses like a prostitute, imagines strangers must be gay and then states the sex acts they do followed up by the next act, they are always Trad.

@AndrewMFanco Whenever the hubbub happened over Voris coming out. OFFICALLY. (As you know, was the worst kept secret in Detroit where everyone either knew or heard about it and just was mum)

@davidgmac9 @Netterville @josephnollasj I wouldn't say "not accurate" (we need not assume he's lying until proven otherwise) just that his experience does not and should not be the universal experience, especially in light of evidence to the contrary.
