New data highlights some Social Landlords have a very large proportion of their homes failing to meet quality standards. Over 60% of Birmingham City Council and Railway HA homes fail the decent home standard.Huge. Worst offenders are LAs (perhaps they have more robust surveys?)

Working in partnership with business, can only happen if government is clear on what the goals are (e.g. health for all, net zero), and then works with business to make that happen, through collective investment, designing contracts that socialize BOTH risks and rewards. In my book "The Value of Everything: making and taking in the global economy", and in books like Brett Christophers' "Rentier Capitalism", we look at how Blackrock has benefitted from the opposite: socialization of risk & privatization of rewards. So yes partnership is key, but must first define what a good partnership looks like.
