@AtomicFox64 @JoshuaTookes I love Astro Boy, but his animation adaptations tend to vary wildly from the original story. I think the 2003 series was the closest it ever got and even then the dub got butchered and tampered with when it came to episode order and I don't think we ever got the movie/OVA either

Really wished the Archie Sonic reboot got to live to it's full potential instead of just immediately jumping into a half assed Unleashed adaptation that took up most of it's life. The idea of memories being wrong/replaced is just so interesting and I really wish it got explored

American Sonic did put Sonic on the map. The argument that he could have been popular in the west without the American redesign is irrelevant to this point, even if we could prove it. History happened and we are appreciating it.

I really think anyone saying American Sonic shouldn't be represented for the 90s are the true posers because that dude was responsible for putting Sonic on the map near worldwide regardless of what you think of him. He is equally as important to Sonic's History as JP Sonic is.

My issue with Japanese purism from western Sonic fans is the insuffably annoying attitude surrounging authorial intent. That kind of argument is an informal fallacy. It's actually even worse, because Sonic's single author in their eyes is "Japanese people".

Watched Lion King 2019 again and while still a flawed movie, I do think the lions having expressions would have helped it a lot. Would it be perfect? Absolutely not. Idc how mid this movie is the internet will never make me hate Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar. Love his performance.
