depthfirst has raised an $80M Series B at a $580M valuation. Attackers are using AI to break into systems faster than ever before. depthfirst is on a mission to stop this. RT + Comment “depthfirst” and I’ll send you a FREE vibe coding security agent.

Today we’re announcing a $40M Series A led by Accel to continue building @depthfirstlabs .
Jack Altman@jaltma

I sat down with Daniele Perito to talk about his new company @depthfirstlabs. He was previously on the founding team of Cash App and cofounder of Faire. We talked about the future of software security in the age of AI and what becomes possible for both attackers and defenders, what he learned from Cash App and Faire, and what's the same and different across these companies. Hope you enjoy. (0:00) Intro (0:40) The founding insight at Faire (4:34) Operational rigor of marketplace businesses (10:39) Starting a company in 2026 vs 2017 (12:01) The inception story of Cash App (16:22) depthfirst’s mission (18:08) AI security landscape (26:10) Security is a fantasy world (31:15) Building superhuman attackers for defense (38:27) Roles of humans and AI in security (39:14) Platform vs pipeline businesses

@Liv_Boeree this is sufficiently insane and outrageous that I reflexively disbelieve. is there some kind of primary source document I can read to see if this is actually as outrageous as it sounds

Remember: a British woman got THREE YEARS IN PRISON for tweeting words against illegal immigrants after little girls were murdered. While this man who tried to stab a man screaming “I’ll kill you” for offending Islam just got no jail time and is now back on the streets. There is a dark self-loathing mindvirus at play in Britain’s institutions and I truly don’t understand how it’s gotten this bad.

This Islamist has dodged prison despite attacking a man with a knife for burning a Quran. I challenge anyone to watch the video and tell me he shouldn’t be locked up.

Today I am going to present our work on transformers for directed graphs in the Learning on Graphs and Geometry reading group. Joint work with @liyuajia @DJ_Mankowitz @TaylanCemgilML @guennemann @CauseMean
Hannes Stark@HannesStaerk

Tomorrow in the reading group: @geisler_si will present his "Transformers Meet Directed Graphs" arxiv.org/abs/2302.00049 👌 Excellent for understanding Graph Transofmers better (and GT for DAGs :3) Join on zoom at 11am EDT / 3pm UTC: m2d2.io/talks/logg/abo…

Are you interested in transformers and/or graphs and are at #ICML2023? Then visit me at poster session 1 (25 Jul 11 a.m.), where I present our @DeepMind paper Transformers Meet Directed Graphs. Joint work work with @liyuajia @DJ_Mankowitz @TaylanCemgilML @guennemann @CauseMean

The transformer architecture powers recent AI tools like #ChatGPT or #GoogleBard. In our @DeepMind #ICML2023 paper Transformers Meet Directed Graphs, we generalize transformers to more general inputs, namely directed graphs. Here’s how we did it. 🧵 arxiv.org/abs/2302.00049

We cannot rule out the possibility that radio communication will alert hostile alien superintelligences to our whereabouts, triggering an invasion posing an existential risk to humanity. Therefore we must carefully regulate radio technology until we have better planetary defenses

Our AI started with games. ♟️ But it didn’t end there. 🌐 Meet MuZero and AlphaZero, two powerful models which have evolved to transform computing itself. They’re already optimising data centres, improving the way we watch videos, and much more. How? 🧵 dpmd.ai/optimising-com…

Our neural network was a relatively small transformer trained only on assembly code generated by AlphaZero during its search process, showing that AI can still produce breakthrough results without very large pretrained models

Our @Nature work on using #AlphaDev, an extension of AlphaZero, to improve the efficiency of fundamental algorithms such as sorting and hashing is out today! See @DeepMind post at dpmd.ai/alphadev-tw, and a few things I found interesting about it in 🧵
