Even Ottawa’s own immigration review is now admitting what Albertans have been saying for years: the system became harder to manage and less functional. Minister @nateglubish did an excellent deep dive on what that means for Alberta, and why this fall’s referendum matters. Read the full breakdown here: nateglubish.substack.com/p/why-alberta-…

Our government has just introduced the 'Safeguards for Last Resort Termination of Life Act' to make it clear MAID cannot be provided where mental illness is the sole underlying condition. Our goal is to strengthen protections for vulnerable Albertans and ensure MAID is not used when other care and treatment options are available. With one of the most reliable power grids in the country, Alberta is well-positioned to be a key pillar in strengthening electricity connections with our neighbours to strengthen energy security for our country. I'm proud that Alberta has joined numerous provinces across the country, including Ontario, in a partnership aimed at building a national energy corridor. It’s time for Prime Minister @MarkJCarney to join me and millions of our fellow Canadians in supporting the appointment of Don Cherry to the Order of Canada, one of our nation’s highest honours. This shouldn’t even be up for debate. Don Cherry is a Canadian icon, a hockey legend and is loved by Albertans. He’s not just one of the greats, his word and opinion about our national sport is still treated as hockey gospel by millions of Canadians. His contributions to Canadian sport and culture are undeniable, and the work he did to honour our nation’s veterans was an invaluable contribution to our country. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Canadians. So, put the puck in the net and give Grapes the recognition he deserves. Read the full story here: calgaryherald.com/opinion/column…

Nuclear energy has great potential to meet rising electricity demand. I was honoured to join leaders and experts on a panel at the SMR Nuclear Canada Summit last week for a timely discussion on how nuclear could contribute to a reliable, affordable energy system.

Now is the time to bring Albertans together by securing big wins for our province that provide hope for a prosperous future, not follow the NDP into anger and division. I will continue to call out the NDP when they offer only outrage instead of working to right the wrongs of Ottawa these past 10 years, and I will keep standing up for Albertans who are rightly frustrated with the deal this province has received for far too long. We are turning the tide for our province and country. Let’s keep it up.

On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the leadership and dedication of the women who shape our communities every day. It is inspiring to work alongside such resilient, hardworking women in the Legislature and to be part of a government led by a woman who fearlessly stands up for Albertans and is building a stronger province for all. I am proud to celebrate these incredible women today and every day. 🚨 BREAKING: Today, Ottawa and Alberta reached an agreement that Alberta will oversee regulatory approvals for major projects located in our province. This agreement is the first milestone that needed to be achieved under our MOU with the Federal Government. We expect more milestones will be reached in the near future. The deal reached today reduces regulatory uncertainty, speeds up approvals, and puts Alberta in the driver’s seat so we can get pipelines and large projects approved and built faster.
