Friday was a brilliant day dancing around the maypole. Well done to all the dancers in Cedar class!

Mr Fowles’ cousin brought his tractor and slurry tanker in for us to learn about and sit in. We revisited a number of topics we had spoken about during National Science Week as our focus was farming. 🚜👩‍🌾👨‍🌾@ArlaDairyUK @Morris_Corfield @CLAAS_UK

The solar ovens definitely melted the sweets and the chocolate but they did not reach the 64 degrees which is needed to start to cook the egg. 🍳 🍫 🍬

We were extremely fortunate to work with Mr Winterton today, he spoke about his role as a script writer and what he does on a day to day basis as a script writer. He spoke about the importance of writing in the present tense which is something that we don’t do very often.

After learning about the difference between tally and frequency charts in maths, we are now creating our own. There is a clear Euros focus ⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇫🇷🇪🇸🇳🇱

This afternoon, we are using our computing skills to help us to design a South American meal in DT. Kids Food Altas highlights each countries most popular foods. We will make our meals tomorrow morning.

The children have been creating waggle dances like bees acting as pollinators. This shows other bees where the food is. They can communicate how far away the food is and in which direction, how good the food is and even if there are any dangers nearby.

Hand eye coordination being tested this morning with a game of rounders. Some excellent throwing, catching and batting skills demonstrated.

We have been making our own healthy Nando’s this morning. We made spicy breaded chicken, sweet potato wedges and minted, spicy peas. We discussed the benefits of preparing our own food rather than eating out all the time. 💷🩺

Tasty Tuesday - We have been investigating the benefits of selecting healthy options at meal time. We have been debating how marketing can have an adverse effect on what we choose to eat. This afternoon, we have been researching which foods certain religions aren’t able to eat.

This afternoon, we have been discussing, drawing and acting out emotions from our life experiences. This links to our Health Week focus.

Today is the start of our school Health Week, we have been discussing what contributes to our health. It is Mindfulness Monday today. We are currently making our circle of support.
