@king_reinhardt The View from Saturday will always remind me of reading before bed with my mom. I know she read to me since birth, but this is the first book that I have cognizant memories of her reading to me before bed in the 1st grade. 😁

Working in education has done nothing but make me question if I hallucinated a good portion of my own upbringing. There is no way these younglings are as socially inept as I am observing them to be.

@MRayWrites You're absolutely right in this point. I understand it's need; but, I personally struggle with it.

@CeesXenia I don’t think giving warnings about sensitive content or certain tropes takes away from story. To me, it makes it easier for writer to get the right reader and vice versa. And avoid unnecessary conflict between reader and writer spaces.

I always give content warnings and a list of tropes that can be found in my books so readers don’t go in not knowing what to expect. If I say this book has a certain thing before you even read the 1st page, then why are you complaining that you hate that certain thing?

@MRayWrites And people sometimes just complain to be complainers. That is the long and the short of it as well.

@MRayWrites If I know what things lie ahead, I feel like the impact that the writer goes for when they are weaving their story is diminished.

@MRayWrites This is something I struggle with in modern-day literature. I understand the need for it and the detrimental effects people get from things that trigger them. However, I feel like it takes some of the mystique out of delving into a story.
