@PrisonMike247 @iRacing Makes zero sense. A computer scientist/app developer made code changes and developed a product to make it better and your personal business model is to not use it because you bought an old version of it.
Theology this your ego not a moral issue as it doesnt breach dogma
English

@okspinner01 @dgoodin24 I stuck to how the software actually works. Sorry the facts didn't line up with your argument.👍
English

@Celofficial @dgoodin24 Oh, you weren’t oversimplifying it, you’re just stupid. Gotcha
English

iracing has only ever raised its price 1 time before this, EVER.
It’s $1.75 a month, it will be fine.
Diecast Pro Shop@diecastproshop
New iracing subscription pricing🥀

@okspinner01 @dgoodin24 iRacing doesn't have an entirely offline mode one could choose to play at any time.
English

@Celofficial @dgoodin24 But to answer your question, if WoW has an entirely offline mode one could choose to play at any time, then yes, I think you ought to be able to ride around on it offline after paying for it. But I’ve never played WoW and have no intentions to do so 🤷♂️
English

@okspinner01 @dgoodin24 It really isn't.
WoW: Your sub grants you access to the world and anything you bought to use in it.
iRacing: Your sub grants you access to the sim and anything you bought to use in it.
English

@Celofficial @dgoodin24 Gross oversimplification of the argument. But nice attempt.
English

@okspinner01 @dgoodin24 If I use real money on World of Warcraft to buy a mount, should I be able to ride around on it after my subscription ends?
English

@dgoodin24 I’m just wondering why everyone is up in arms about this, but not the fact you have to have an active subscription just to use the content you paid for offline

@LeftTurnMan @Double_Clutch_ @jonathanoatess Both pilot and pro racing simulators have clear success/win conditions and performance objectives. They collect telemetry and score you against targets. Meeting those goals is the win condition. Yet nobody calls them video games.
English

@Celofficial @Double_Clutch_ @jonathanoatess well, no, neither of those examples have a win condition.
English

@LeftTurnMan @Double_Clutch_ @jonathanoatess By your def. the software Boeing uses to train pilots, videogame. The simulators pro race teams use to prepare drivers, videogame. But the devs. for them would say that is an over simplification of the softwares intent and purpose. Exactly like what you are doing
English

@Celofficial @Double_Clutch_ @jonathanoatess it's an interactive piece of software with a clearly stated win condition. anyone who's not desperate to pretend they're a real race car driver is going to call that a video game, no matter what inane drivel they may have on their website.
English

@LeftTurnMan @Double_Clutch_ @jonathanoatess And you don't get to change the stated intent of the service & target audience. They built it as a simulation/sport platform, not a video game. Calling it that is technically true in the broadest sense, but it ignores context/purpose.
English

@Celofficial @Double_Clutch_ @jonathanoatess iracing doesn't get to change the definition of words, worry
English

@LeftTurnMan @Double_Clutch_ @jonathanoatess The intent of the platform was not to be a video game. It has seen a cash infusion from gamers and now they lean into it but it was never meant for people looking to "game".

@NeuraTrades @TraxionGG I buy two years of sub time on Black Friday at $150 and I'm paid in full through 2035. That is $6.25 a month. Apply the price increase, my monthly cost after 2035 went up $.73 a month. That is nothing. Subscription time is cheap if you do it right.
English

@Celofficial @TraxionGG It was already in the expensive range to begin with? lol man I don't give a fuck, I have the money and still won't pay for a subscription because it's priced way more than it should be. It's just going to hurt the game long term
English

iRacing will increase the cost of all its subscription plans this coming August.
More info here: traxion.gg/iracing-set-to…

English

@NeuraTrades @TraxionGG It went up $1.75 a month. If being able to afford that is high class to you then yea, stick with EVO.
English

@Celofficial @TraxionGG No one is going to keep spending money on iracing at these prices. Higher classes will be fine, no one new is joining to grow their player base at these prices
English

@TraxionGG Yeah they're greedy as fuck. EVO needs to smooth out the competitive format and it's over for iracing
English

@AmoLaCocaColaSG @iRacing Your $12/mo is peanuts for Ferrari licensing. EA holds exclusive F1 grid rights, and iRacing requires teams to hand over sensitive CAD and telemetry data to build a real simulation—something Scuderia Ferrari keeps under absolute lock and key.
English

@Celofficial @iRacing what i meant was a newer indycar series for roudcourse alone, i mess the "for indycar". Ferrari will. i wont let alone anyone. i pay 12 dollars a month for it.
English

@AmoLaCocaColaSG @iRacing We are already using the latest IndyCar, Dallara IR18. There isn't a newer one. The majority of the IndyCar series run on road course already. Ferrari won't even license their car for diecasts, let alone to iRacing.
English

@iRacing please mate... multi category in formula cars all day with free content. F4 car f3 cars race every hour. indycar in roudcourse. A newer indycar. A ferrari f1 car. And make the championships of the categorys clearer. there are some MF that dont even knoww there is a championship
English

@TWaskiewicz1 @Davidleebaran11 @RacingRT1 Exactly. Kmag, literally setup the first corner in the video, such that he would have a massive run on the inside expecting Noah to track out like the other cars and secure the inside. Noah instead blocked the inside, and braked hard causing Kmag to rear end him.
English

@Davidleebaran11 @RacingRT1 Everyone goes back wide there to get an arc and Kmag went for a sneaky move and Noah blocked… it was a racing incident Noah just wanted to get mad at somebody to get his name back in the headlines lmao
English

@Davidleebaran11 @RacingRT1 Noah takes a defensive line going into 2nd corner of video. Look at the entry of the cars ahead. Noahs whole objective was to deny Kevin the inside so he blocked the inside and in doing so is forced to brake hard for the corner causing Kevin to hit him.
English

@RacingRT1 Buddy ran straight through in the first clip, Kevin whatever needs to stay outta nascar
English

@ThaddyPS @konrad55 @uniquemoviemom Magneto cannot puppet-control a human brain just because it has a weak electromagnetic field.
English

@konrad55 @uniquemoviemom Magneto is an omega level mutant, he can control magnetic forces, not metal. Your brain also produces a weak electro magnetic field
English

@Thiccrespect @ThaddyPS @konrad55 @uniquemoviemom Iron naturally present in blood is non-ferromagnetic in its bound state. Magento cannot control people using iron in their blood.
English

@silbirobi @iRacing That takes critical resources away from improving online netcode, scanning new tracks, and updating physics for the active members who actually fund the service. It’s not "pure greed"—it's a business prioritizing the customers who keep the lights on, not the ones leaving
English

@silbirobi @iRacing Also, there absolutely IS a disadvantage to the rest of us if they changed it. To build a DRM-free offline mode, iRacing would have to spend massive development time and money completely rewriting their software engine and physics architecture to run standalone.
