Mr Sampath Kumar from Andhra Pradesh, and Mr Bharat Nataraj from Jansahas took the session forward by sharing their experiences. The panel ended with Dr Ruth's inspiring words and guidance on how to build effective coalitions. #ILDCFirstRegionalWorkshop

The last panel of the day was moderated by Dr Ruth Manorama, focusing on building effective advocacy and coalitions. The Hakki-Pikki and Iruliga Tribal Society from the rural areas of Bengaluru shared their experiences and journey.

Dr R Soundarya Iyer shared learnings from her study in 3 villages focusing on labor, land and credit options and opportunities. Industrial jobs are first taken up by men leaving women in the fields to be underpaid. Concurrently, women prefer working in non-agricultural sectors.

Dr V Anitha discussed her studies on active and passive exclusion of Dalits and marginalised. Her study explores biodiversity conservation done by communities and how government actors and mechanisms affect it.

Dr Kalpana Satish moderated the panel on women land rights emphasising the role of caste and patriarchy. She also focused on the need to define what land and land rights mean. While only 13% of agricultural lands are owned by women 70% is their workforce participation.

Mr Nandakumar Siva spoke about his work which focuses on Panchayati Raj Institutions, while working with institutions which are very close to people to enhance access to governance. They simplify complex rules and laws of Panchayati Raj Act in TN in the form of FAQs.
