Heavy rain and the potential for localized flooding are in the forecast this week. The safety of our customers and communities remains a top priority. If you encounter standing water, stay clear and never walk or drive through flooded areas where electrical hazards may be hidden from view. If you see a downed power line, assume it is energized, stay at least 35 feet away and call 713-207-2222 to report it immediately.

Following Houston's successful run as a host city for the @FWC26Houston, we want to recognize the more than 50 CenterPoint Energy employees who volunteered their time to help welcome the world to our city. ⚽🌎 Over the past several weeks, our employee volunteers welcomed visitors, supported fan events, assisted at transit hubs and helped create memorable experiences for thousands of fans from around the world. At the same time, our electric and natural gas teams took a series of critical actions to prepare and support the energy systems that deliver reliable, safe and affordable power during major events and every day to the customers and communities we're privileged to serve. Whether serving our communities in the field, behind the scenes or as volunteers, our employees demonstrate what it means to power and support the Greater Houston community we proudly call home. Thank you to everyone who helped make Houston's World Cup experience a success. #Houston2026 #FIFAWorldCup
