NEW: Official dates have been set for Penn State's faculty union election. Ballots will be mailed April 1 and the deadline to vote is May 6, according to a news release from the SEIU.

Luigi Mangione 's lawyers have asked a judge to postpone his federal trial in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson until early next year and said they will seek to have his state murder trial delayed until September. Mangione's lawyers said the current schedule — the state trial in June and the federal trial in September — would put him “in the position of needing to prepare for two complicated and serious trials at the same time.” (AP)

.@PennStateMHKY’s Gavin McKenna has been named the B1G Freshman of the Year. McKenna is Penn State’s first-ever Freshman of the Year winner. He highlights six Nittany Lions named to Big Ten All-Conference teams as announced by the league office today.

AAA: the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline jumped over $3.84 today, up from $2.98 consumers were paying before the U.S. and Israel launched the war against Iran on Feb. 28. The last time gas prices were as expensive as they are now was in September 2023. (AP)

Tuesday, March 17, SCASD schools are now closed. However, District offices will still be opening two hours late. A decision about afterschool activities will be made later today.

Natl. Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for southern Centre County until 8am tomorrow. Snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches are possible, with winds gusting as high as 40mph.
