@Century_Toad @therealjyperion @IbnKulthum That might not be how I'd word it. But I think he (like the GG) has psychological hang-ups with French. Deep down he likely sees its status as an unfair, illogical, illegimate imposition in Canada. Probably inferior too. He's of French Canadian origin so maybe some self-hate too.

In Canada if your condolences aren’t sufficiently French they make you retire.

@therealjyperion @IbnKulthum The outgoing president of Air Canada took 600 h of French training and can't even put two words together. The same is true of Canada's Governor General, the symbolic head of the country. It can't be anything but a psychological blockage based on a sentiment of superiority.
