@newscientist Which doesn't square with the openly reported Mastodon stats... 2.5M active users out of 6.8M, which is %36.8 active users per month. 6 month active users is around %50.

@rogerokeeffe I don't know... I asked for an explanation, and specifically referred the admin for mastodon.ie, but he hasn't responded. Thing is, it just isn't the attitude we want on Mastodon. It's really a more relaxed, less combatant environment.

@CerebralRiftOrg A couple of journos reported on twitter that they had been banned from Irish Mastodon - one, a woman iirc, on the stated grounds "don't be a ballox". That's why I wonder if it's just anti-journo prejudice there.
