Yesterday MPs voted on whether the UK #AgBill should include an amendment to ban food imports of low environmental, animal welfare and food safety standards. This is how they voted. So much for looking out for our farmers!

Perilously few foals are born each year and the Eriskay Pony Society co-operates with @RBSTRarebreeds so that numbers can be monitored and analysed. This data is used to estimate the number of registered breeding females in the UK which is then published in the annual Watchlist.

These two projects came to similar conclusions which showed that, probably due to its isolation, the Eriskay Pony is not only one of the most genetically distinct breeds of Mountain and Moorland ponies, it is also one of the most ancient. 2/3

@CoediogCowboi @blackgull @minibeastmayhem @BBCRadio4 Rob, your beetle is Anoploturupes stercorosus, the Woodland Dor beetle. Although not restricted to woodlands. Its a beauty.

@CoediogCowboi @blackgull @minibeastmayhem @BBCRadio4 Joe, your farm looks great for dung beetles - unimproved wood pasture is pretty high on the tick list (Highland cattle too!). Would expect at least 10-12 species in such lovely habitat. The smaller species are often not very visible unless you dig around.
