Football is more than just numbers on paper. When I look at a POTY winner, I look at consistency, leadership, influence in the biggest games and how much you actually carry your team throughout the whole season. Sometimes people get carried away with stats and forget the overall performances. Bruno has created chances and helped the team, yes, but there are other players who have been more complete and more dominant from start to finish. Twenty assists is impressive, but I personally don’t think that alone is enough to make you Player of the Year.”

Look at when Kevin De Bruyne won it - he backed it up with trophies. Ozil didn’t win the PFA despite his incredible performances. I’m trying to control myself, but the facts speak clearly. What more do you want from Declan Rice? He has won multiple Player of the Match awards in the Champions League and the Premier League. Now he’s a Premier League champion and Arsenal’s Player of the Season. He’s also going to play in the Champions League final, while Bruno will be watching from the television. If Declan wins the Champions League, then for me he should be in the conversation for the Ballon d’Or. That’s the only way this makes sense. The Premier League should do better with these awards.
