This is my biggest problem with Messi, what made him think he could pull the assist from that position?😭

@Ethancfc7_ Mikel obi is just sad. If it where to be a Chelsea player, he will be the first to give praise

John Obi Mikel on Bruno Fernandes winning Player of the Year :
“I’m not saying Bruno Fernandes has had a bad season, because 20 assists is unbelievable, but for me assists alone shouldn’t automatically give you the Player of the Year award. Football is more than just numbers on paper.
When I look at a POTY winner, I look at consistency, leadership, influence in the biggest games and how much you actually carry your team throughout the whole season. Sometimes people get carried away with stats and forget the overall performances.
Bruno has created chances and helped the team, yes, but there are other players who have been more complete and more dominant from start to finish. Twenty assists is impressive, but I personally don’t think that alone is enough to make you Player of the Year.”

🚨🎙️Thomas Tuchel when asked why he left Cole Palmer out of the England squad:
“First of all, this is not a punishment against Cole Palmer because I think he is a fantastic player with a very high ceiling. But international football is about timing, rhythm and consistency, not only talent.
Cole was not available for us enough during important periods, and when we analysed the season overall, players like Jude Bellingham, Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze were more decisive both for their clubs and in our England camps.
Sometimes these decisions are difficult because fans only see the big names, but as coaches we must look at performances, intensity in training, tactical balance and who is impacting games regularly.
England now has serious competition in those attacking positions. Nobody’s place is guaranteed anymore, no matter how talented they are. And honestly, I think competition like this can make players even stronger mentally.
Cole is young, extremely gifted and I have no doubt he will respond the right way. But at this moment, I simply believed other players deserved the opportunity more.”

🚨🎙️ | Thierry Henry blasts critics questioning Declan Rice’s Player of the Season case:
🗣️ “I really don’t understand why people keep saying Declan Rice doesn’t deserve the award.
Yes, Arsenal as a team have been phenomenal this season and there are different players you can mention, David Raya, Rice, Gabriel Magalhães, because the whole team has been outstanding.
But if you truly understand football and you look at what Declan Rice has done in that defensive midfield role, then you’ll understand why he absolutely deserves to be in that conversation.
He does the dirty work. The tackles, interceptions, breaking up attacks, protecting the defence, winning duels, driving the team forward mentally and physically, those things matter.
People only want to judge players by goals and assists now, and that’s the problem. Football is bigger than numbers.
A player can dominate a season without scoring every week. Rice gives Arsenal balance, leadership, aggression, control, he’s the engine of that team.
For me, Player of the Season should also be about influence. How much did you help your team win? How much did you elevate the players around you? And Rice has done that brilliantly.
You don’t win titles without players like Declan Rice. Impossible.
Maybe his work is not always glamorous, but it’s one of the biggest reasons Arsenal are where they are today.”

📣🎙️Roy Keane: "Declan Rice Deserves the PFA Award More Than Bruno Fernandes"
There’s not much to debate here for me - it’s quite obvious. Declan deserves it more.
Look at when Kevin De Bruyne won it - he backed it up with trophies. Ozil didn’t win the PFA despite his incredible performances. I’m trying to control myself, but the facts speak clearly.
What more do you want from Declan Rice? He has won multiple Player of the Match awards in the Champions League and the Premier League. Now he’s a Premier League champion and Arsenal’s Player of the Season.
He’s also going to play in the Champions League final, while Bruno will be watching from the television.
If Declan wins the Champions League, then for me he should be in the conversation for the Ballon d’Or. That’s the only way this makes sense.
The Premier League should do better with these awards.
