Alright @dennyhamlin, imma shoot straight with ya here my man. I was a fan of yours for 10 years. 10 years, so I think that time investment gives me a say here. Imma be real. I would feel safe betting that Carson Hocevar wins a championship before you do. As raw and unpolished as he is and with the elite season you have had thus far, I feel safe saying that. Your biggest problem has always been that your car just doesn't run as fast as your mouth when it really counts. If it did? Whatever you pointed the finger at that got in the way each time could be multiplied twenty-fold on the biggest stage and you'd still run away with it. You'd be unstoppable. I don't have a problem with you talking. Not at all. In a sport full of corporate robots that have the personality of a wet paper sack, I welcome that. The thing for me is you aim higher than where you actually stand a little too frequently for my taste. I'm not talking Hocevar on that either. After years of that, it just loses its meaning and my ability to take it seriously. As a former Hamlin fan, my longstanding joke has always been if you want to win a NASCAR Cup Series Title, get Denny Hamlin to talk some smack on you. It's as close to a locked-in guarantee as it gets. Ask Keselowski, Logano, KB (if he was still here). You just cannot help it. For me at this point, Denny could win 35 straight races and you still couldn't convince me he'd win the 36th one. Since the dude wants to continue this goofiness 20 years later and miss the entire point of what draws fans to Carson Hocevar...well? Naturally, I think he should get some love right back. What Denny & co. fail to understand is this. It's not just Hocevar himself pulling this off. It is THEM, their need to feed it and stoke the flame. Not to mention, Hocevar's antics and choices have brought more life out of a lifeless garage than I have ever seen. You get these drones that all of a sudden show their first signs of life the moment Hocevar does something to tick them off. Wanna know the natural fan response? Bring 20 more Carson Hocevar's to the sport. We're fed up. You got a lot to say about the fans? The sport wouldn't be able to rake in the TV deals, its appeal or growth, or sponsorship without them. It'd be done. This is what Carson Hocevar understands that you people don't. Good grief, it is Atlanta. Not every race track works the way Atlanta does on determining the winner. Hamlin of all folks should know that. This isn't the type of race that shows up as the 36th on the schedule.
