As Mary Magdalene and her companions mournfully approached the Garden Tomb, two angels appeared to them and shared the clarion call of all Christianity: "Why seek ye the living among the dead?" "He is not here, but is risen" (Luke 24:5-6). This Easter season we also joyfully testify of this same eternal truth—Jesus Christ is risen. He lives! The Savior of the world was crucified and, on the third day, rose from the dead, "the firstfruits of them that slept" (1 Corinthians 15:20). His Resurrection allows all to be resurrected, and through His grace, we can find peace "which passeth all understanding" (Philippians 4:7) and "be perfected in him" (Moroni 10:32). We invite each of you during this Easter season to "seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written" (Ether 12:41). As you do so, we testify that your Easter celebrations can strengthen your own faith and testimony that "death is conquered; man is free. Christ has won the victory" ("He Is Risen!" Hymns, no. 199). —The First Presidency @OaksDallinH @EyringHB @ChristoffDTodd

"I grew up in Oregon in a big, close-knit family. I was naturally introverted and often uncomfortable speaking, especially as a kid. I even had a stutter, and for a long time I doubted whether I had much to offer. But over time, the Lord placed people in my life who showed me that love invites us outward and that growth happens when we step beyond comfort. "Serving in the Church pushed me to rely on Christ in ways I never had before. Preparing for a mission forced me to face my fears and trust that God could work through my weaknesses. I learned that the Lord does not wait for us to be perfect before He uses us. He calls us as we are and strengthens us as we go. "Easter reminds me why that matters. Because Christ lives, change is real. Weakness can become strength. Fear does not have the final word. Through the Savior, I have felt power beyond my own and peace I could not create by myself. "Today, I serve on a stake council and work in a career that requires me to speak and connect with people daily. I am still growing, but I know now that when I rely on Christ, He makes me equal to what He asks of me. Because of the Resurrection, I trust His timing, His purposes, and His perfect awareness of each of us." — William #GreaterLove

"We moved to Newport Beach in 2011 when my husband, Nate, received a new job. We decided to rebuild our home and were living in a rental nearby. Just before Christmas, Nate was killed in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. "Our children were 13, 16, 19, and 22. It was during COVID, and overnight, everything familiar disappeared. There were days when simply getting through felt like too much. "Our congregation became our second family, and my children became my strength. We eventually finished rebuilding our home, and instead of feeling empty, it felt like a fresh start, a place to keep moving forward while still carrying him with us. "What carried me was steady faith in Christ and His sacrifice for each of us. Easter has taken on a deeper meaning for me because of it. The Resurrection isn’t just something I believe in, it’s the hope I live by. Because of the Savior, I know this loss isn’t permanent. Love doesn’t end. Families don’t end. "I miss Nate every day, but I don’t feel alone. I believe he continues to care for our children from the other side of the veil. Greater love, to me, is what Easter teaches, that love sacrifices, heals, and lasts beyond death. Because Christ lives, this separation is only for a moment, and one day, we will be made whole again." — Pamela #GreaterLove

The following statement was released by the United States Northeast Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stands with all people of faith who face violence because of their beliefs. Having experienced a similar attack in nearby Grand Blanc, Church members express their love, support, and deep concern for all who are affected by today’s act of violence at a synagogue in West Bloomfield. Houses of worship should be sanctuaries of peace, prayer, and community. We pray for healing, comfort, and peace for all who are suffering.” newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/statem…

Millions of people worldwide will gather April 4–5, 2026, for the 196th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Because this year’s conference falls on Easter Sunday, many of the messages will naturally center on the heart of Easter itself — the literal Resurrection of Jesus Christ, His infinite Atonement, His triumph over death, and the hope, renewal, and peace that come through Him. Sermons from Church leaders will bear witness that because the Savior lives, individuals and families can find strength, purpose and joy in their discipleship. Another important moment will be the solemn assembly during the Saturday morning session — an opportunity for Latter-day Saints to sustain a new Church President and First Presidency. “Our second son, Shouei, would have been nine years old this year. When I first learned from the doctor that he wouldn’t survive, I felt completely hopeless. But because I knew about Jesus Christ’s Atonement, I found peace even in that heartbreak. “There were so many miracles with Shouei. During my pregnancy, there were complications and moments of fear. Doctors had concerns about his condition and about my safety, too. But right before delivery, something changed, something I can only describe as divine. What could have been dangerous turned into a moment of mercy. Even with his little body struggling, I felt his love so strongly, like he was helping me from the inside. “Our doctor said he wouldn’t be able to breathe on his own. But when he was born, he breathed by himself and lived for seven hours. Those seven hours were a sacred gift. “Because of the gospel, I know this life isn’t the end. I’ll see him again, and we’ll be together as a family forever because of Jesus Christ. “He continues to be our motivation to become better people and to go back to Heaven.” — Saori #GreaterLove
