@StonebrakerS It is sad for sure!! It seems like the only D1s that are incentivized to add are at small, enrollment driven schools like Presbyterian that has 1k students because 30 men and 30 women on the wrestling team represents a 6% increase in students

@ChadVCookie It is the way of the land and it's not changing but I do find it sad that there's so many institutions out there that pretty much say you can either self-sustain or be gone. Because every dollar they have is going towards football

Here's what I'm having a difficult time with. When evaluating starting up a new wrestling program, often given the idea that it is going to cost "At least $1,000,000 per year" At 47, we have a $300K budget I'd assume by the time you get to 79, a much lower budget than that?

@StonebrakerS I totally agree! I think the thought isn’t competitiveness, but more sustainability without costing the school money. Even a $250k budget would mean they would have to fundraise $5M

@ChadVCookie Suppose the way I look at it though is that I would rather have a team, that has NCAA qualifiers from time to time, that may not be ever contending for anything much more... Than I would to just plain not see anything at all. I'll take a Duke over a Syracuse any day of the week
