@peacockreports I speak for everyone when I say, we hope this hot airmass migrates further north-west.

The GFS forecast model is displaying a pretty serious temperature bias at the moment, with too much drying of soils leading to excessive heat build. This feeds back onto itself, leading to unrealistically hot airmasses like what's shown here for 6th August.

Cloud thick enough this morning for some patchy drizzle/light rain here and there but not measurable.

Some rainfall over the weekend as the Jet Stream briefly topples over the UK. It will be the first measurable rainfall for me since July the 2nd.

@M60lad It will help but don't be surprised if the forecast downgrades slightly and it doesn't rain as much as expected.

@ChadWeather Will any of this forecast rain help elevate the wild fires in both Dovestones and Tintwistle?

It’s the strangest thing. There’s hay absolutely everywhere! The garden is completely sheltered, so I have no idea how it’s got here. It looks like it’s been raining hay in Roundhay, Leeds. My sister has it all over her garden too, and she’s a 10-minute walk away.

@JanetHemmings3 If you look at the chart above it shows some rainfall amounts for NW England (4mm to 7mm) so some showery rain is likely this weekend but not much at all.
