I will never complain about woke holidays being added to the calendar because frankly, we’re short on holidays. We need at least 10-12 more big holidays. The wokes can have a few, and so can the chuds. We need more days off, especially in the summer.

I am often surprised by what is possible. Going from SF to Tahoe feels like a big deal. It’s a 200 mile drive, you have to get a rental car, etc. And you assume that no Uber driver would want such a far trip. Turns out: you can totally just take an Uber. Some drivers want these! 3.5 hour drive, a straight shot in the summer. Much less stressful than the entire rental car rigamarole. I was surprised by how easy and viable this is. The inevitable next thought is when Waymos will be able to handle this drive. Certainly for summer weather, it feels within reach.

@ThePlake0815 @fitzfromdublin The US has safe drinking water, with some notable exceptions. We filter it further for a slightly cleaner taste or slightly more (unnecessary) peace of mind. And we drink bottled water largely for convenience.

It blows my mind to see physicians arguing that getting more data on a patient is harmful because it will be used stupidly, so we are better off just not getting the data, and instead should let cancer tell us when it’s arrived. Are things really this grim in medicine?
