The idea that Vox always planned to use Alastor for his power and was only upset at being told “no” for the first time is such a wildly unsubstantiated theory to me, because how are you going to hold an obsessive grudge for over 70 years and attempt a mass-murder-suicide over JUST a failed business venture.
