8-second tyre pressure penalty for Lorenzo Savadori moves him back one place from P16 to P17

@denkmit Hey Simon, off topic. Will trackhouse sell those jackets that the pitbox crew are wearing?

Going unsaid about Monday's one-year countdown event to the proposed Brazilian GP is that it very much suggests that we won't have a 2026 Argentine GP. The contract with Termas ends on Sunday, with no news on a renewal.

What did you do today, Rich? Well, mostly just edited a podcast and endlessly looked at pictures of Honda Beats.

The most interesting buy of the day is probably this trophy. Awarded by BRMC to Mike Hailwood in 1961. Time for a little research I think

I did another Christmas sober 🎉 I realise that makes me sound like a massive loser but it was a big challenge this year and I found it really hard. I cried quite a lot but I find arguing & broken promises difficult to deal with. But crying is better than drinking imo.

Excellent question. The answer is yes, because Barcelona has terrible grip. So it's easier to tell if something is helping with grip.

@motomatters Catalunya a better track than Valencia for testing 🤔

@damian17236445 @matoxley They have to be fast though or else the tyres and brakes won't be up to temperature. How often do you see someone slide off on a cold tyre?

@matoxley I'd prefer to ride a modern race bike than one from 30 years ago, I wouldn't do modern race speeds though, I'm happy to trundle round much slower. The speed BSB, WSBK and MotoGP bikes go now are mental.

I'm not sure they were scarier times. Riders are locking the front tyre every time they brake, sometimes from over 200mph and tucking the front into every other corner, while going to elbow to elbow with rivals, all armed with similarly competitive motorcycles, chasing hundredths, not tenths, dealing with the air-stop issue, getting blown off line by the aero wash from other bikes, riding towards the first corner with 300bhp and zero suspension, having to smash the front brake into the first corner, hoping to disengage the front holeshot device, even though they're in the midst of 21 other axe murderers. And look at the crash rate now - maybe they're not getting as badly smashed up all the time, but they're all carrying new and/or old injuries all of the time. It's super-brutal!
Lawrence Peeney@lolp63

@matoxley Simpler, but scarier times 😍

A rare celebration that is actually part of an open competition. Brembo have become ubiquitous in MotoGP by being the best, and gaining such a great advantage that it is pretty much impossible for anyone else to enter and beat them
Brembo@BremboBrakes

With the Misano race, Brembo achieved its five-hundredth consecutive victory in 500/MotoGP Class. A series of 500 consecutive victories that began on June 11, 1995, with Mick Doohan’s victory at Mugello riding a Honda in the 500 class.
