A CLOSING FEATURE of the 4th Histeria 🇨🇷⛓️🪚🎵 Chainsaws Were Singing is back in Costa Rica after winning the Best Feature Film award at Corrosivo Fest. This time it will be a festival closer of the 4th Edition of Histeria. The screening is taking place in San José on Sunday, November 16th at 7 PM @CCMCinemasCR in Plaza Mayor, 2nd floor. Histeria brings together a current international selection of feature films and short films framed within the horror, science fiction and fantasy genre. It is a window in Central America for fantastic movies from across the world, seeking to broaden territories and perspectives. The 4th edition presents a program dedicated to genre cinema, where the fantastic and the symbolic intertwine with the realities we live in. Histeria Lab is a section of the festival focused on feature-length genre projects in the first stage of development. The projects travel to Costa Rica to receive advice on script, production, direction, folder design, pitch, photography, sound and art direction. Good shit is a word combo that we often throw around and now it’s official - Chainsaws Were Singing is good shit. 💩👍 Our celebratory 100th festival screening was in Spain at CIM Sueca (aka Crappy International Movies in Sueca) 2025 and for us it concluded with the 1st feature film prize called SHIT (Suecan Horrorous Incoming Trophy). Yeah, it comes with a trophy and dollah-dollah bills y’all… nah, we actually have euros here. But yeah, monetary prize is a rarity so saludos a los españoles! 🫡 CIM Sueca gives visibility to productions where desire, enthusiasm and creativity take precedence over technical means and which are therefore outside conventional commercial circuits, so I think we fitted right in. Thank you so much for including us (again… as our short film Curiosity Kills played there years ago) in your programme and we look forward to your future endeavours.
