Ethereum's biggest bottleneck isn't gas fees. It's the EVM itself.
Stack-based, 256-bit words, built before zk-proofs existed. Result: an @ethereum block is up to 800× more expensive to zk-prove on the EVM than on RISC-V.

Three things to audit before mainnet:
🔹 Replace `signature status` polling with `signatureSubscribe`
🔹 Shorten cache TTLs to under 250ms or add certificate-aware invalidation
🔹 Any logic treating `confirmed` and `finalized` as different states, since both converge

Every `poll for finalized` loop on @solana is about to become dead code.
With Alpenglow:
→ finality drops from 12.8s to 100-150ms
→ `confirmed` and `finalized` collapse into one certificate
→ validator vote transactions (~75% of Solana tx) move off-chain into BLS certificates
