BREAKING ⚠️ US Supreme Court strikes down Trump’s global tariffs as ‘unlawful’, 18% tariff on India is now ILLEGAL. Huge implications and billions in refunds likely ahead.

I got the invite to the gala with the Prime Minister, but got stuck in traffic getting back to the venue after I changed into gala attire (changed out of my jeans). Would have been honored to attend. But after 4h in traffic was equally honored to sit down to really excellent room service at 11 pm 😂

On my VIP armor front, I apparently did have a table seating for the @PMOIndia summit dinner! However, the magical email that allows me in wasn't sent..🤷‍♂️ Too bad I missed catching up with Raj Reddy. I did instead have a lovely dinner with my friend and his family, so all's well!

Oh gosh.

Just got back from the @OfficialINDIAai Impact Summit in Delhi yesterday, and honestly, it left a really bad taste. I went as a researcher and someone building an AI startup for promoting Indian languages, really looking forward to Yann LeCun's 3.45 talk on world models in the research symposium. From 3 pm though, security just locked down every single entry for "VIP movement." They told us to walk all the way around the premises. I did it too, like a fool, sweating for 25 minutes, only to get to the hall and hear the exact same thing again: "Abhi VIP movement hai, entry band hai." People who were already inside the venue? I saw them get evacuated too to clear space for the VIPs. And this wasn't even once. In the morning, when I was walking from Gate 7 to Gate 4, near Gate 5 everyone got stopped, made to turn back 100-150 meters and just stand there for 10-15 minutes because of another VIP movement. Both times, I felt like a third class citizen at an event that was supposed to be for people like me. Never felt so out of place and disrespected at anything AI related. The whole summit is, sorry was, meant for researchers, founders, builders who are grinding in the field every day. Instead we get treated like we don't matter, blocked for hours so some minister or official can pass through. And don't get me wrong. There were a lot of good things too, the @Sarvam launches were gold (much love and respect to them) and I met amazing startups at the booths building so many good products, but overall it came across way more like a government PR show to tell the world "look, India is doing AI" than a real gathering FOR the AI community. We have crazy good talent in AI here. If we ever want to be taken seriously on the global stage, we have to drop this VIP nonsense and start giving respect to the actual people doing the work. Not treat us like background noise. The good thing is that I have understood which events I need to avoid from now on. The ones that actually care about the community over the photo ops are the only ones worth going to. I hope things will be better soon!

Made it to the summit and happy to report there’s some genuinely interesting work happening here. From tackling malnutrition to education assessments, focus on healthcare and farming. No grandstanding about global supremacy. But we are figuring out what Indians need, in their own languages. And that’s pretty good. Also pretty smooth getting in - no press pass, I had registered for a regular pass a while ago #IndiaAIImpactSummit2026

Its academic standards need scrutiny. They also had a faculty member write a “research paper” on how “taali and thaali” killed coronavirus. This robot scam isn’t the first time they’ve brought India shame. You’d worry for the students whose parents pay so much…

Totally in agreement. I am already asking for hefty fines against the university. In a state where you bring the bulldozer for anti national activities , and no I am not a supporter of that , surely for this international embarrassment creator university should be take to task

This guy from DD news 😆😆😆😆😆 Let’s not forget the great work and really good AI minds in the country. DD + Galgotia may be a match made in heaven for the meme industry but lest we forget our real genius minds who have done some incredible work in this space.
Piyush Rai@Benarasiyaa

People like Galgotias University "professor" Neha Singh are the face of "artificial" intelligence who make a fool of themselves and the entire country. Will talk about the absolute collapse of "cute little and naughty" DD News as India's public broadcaster in the next debate.

Dear Galgotia University, There's no propaganda campaign against you specifically. The staff from your University clearly claimed the "Orion" robot was developed by "Our center of excellence." But this sort of behavior from you has helped an anti-India propaganda ecosystem, both inside and outside India that exists for sure, tarnish the entire AI summit by using it to mock India's otherwise great strides in AI and robotics innovation. To those in India sharing this to mock ourselves and the AI Summit (at least those not wanting to mock for political reasons): These kinds of robotic dogs are also made in India by Indian companies too. Chinese robotic dogs too are made from some 70% of components imported from outside China. They are themselves copies of Boston Dynamic's original robotic dogs. It's an open secret China stole and copied American tech in robotics and AI. Do not fall for a concerted effort to take up small issues from the first AI summit India is hosting to amplify it as a "failure." There are amazing Indian startups, companies, and innovation being showcased there in AI and robotics. And it is a great event that should happen every year. Let's acknowledge the real issues - apathy and ineptitude by organizers, govt, and ministries in allowing silly booths (may be based on which institution knows who in the ministry) and letting tech, infra issues creep up during the summit. But that should NOT, as an Indian, make us mock the entire summit, our innovative startups, entrepreneurs, and tech altogether falling for the amplified psyops being done I can clearly see. There are too many good things happening there, a lot of investment coming in, and this summit must be held again in India improving on the issues we have had now. Do not become useful sepoys in a democracy to prevent this from happening again please.

Please do not enroll your children into Galgotias University in India even though it was awarded the best private University by our honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi. The Journal of Molecular Pharmaceuticals and Regulatory Affairs is a retired journal. Last publication was in 2019. matjournals.in/index.php/JMPR… There is a predatory version of the same journal which is also retired. Last publication was in 2022. matjournals.com/Journal-of-Mol… The paper written by a "Research Scholar" from Galgotias University, titled: "Corona Virus Killed by Sound Vibrations Produced by Thali or Ghanti: A Potential Hypothesis," is possibly published in the predatory one, not the original one...and retracted from there too. This was reported by Retraction Watch: retractionwatch.com/retracted-coro… Imagine the credibility of a researcher, of getting published in a predatory journal and getting retracted from a predatory journal? That is what Galgotias University does to its students.
