Rock is for old people. It sells because rock fans never grew out of their teen years and want to relive it. Once that generation ages out, rock is done for.
As a commercial entity, it’s a niche music. See halftime shows. No audience outside USA.

Rock fans know the rock hall is the antithesis of what rock music is about. New edition should be a joke to the rock rall, but it's not because the rock hall is a joke.
