The Met Opera audience is notorious for bursting in before the music has ended, but they just cut into Gremin’s aria before Alexander Tsymbalyuk had even sung his final phrase!

Just updated this review to 2 instead of 2.5. Honestly, it's amazing and hilarious how much more I can write and get worked up about a book I didn't like.

@Margarita890 Man, Arthurian legend isn't my area of expertise. There's always old-school Thomas Malory Le Morte d’Arthur. And heaven knows hubby has been telling me to read Once and Future King by T.H. White forever, and he has good taste. There's also the Tolkien translation of Sir Gawain.

@ChancFangirl Its wonderful. I prefer the 4act version, which is dramatically tauter, imo. and then the opera opens and closes with Charles V.

Currently watching Don Carlo, and man, it really does not matter which of the 50 billion versions an opera company decides to stage, if this well performed, it’s really hard to come up with a better opera.
