Had a productive meeting with Hon’ble Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle at his office in Singha Durbar today. We sincerely appreciated the inclusion of private sector priorities in the government’s 100 point reform agenda recently approved by the Cabinet. Our discussion focused on the critical role of the private sector in strengthening Nepal’s business and investment climate—particularly by addressing legal and policy bottlenecks, boosting production and service delivery, enhancing revenue mobilization, and generating employment opportunities. We also stressed the importance of effective and timely execution of the 100 point reform agenda. The Hon’ble Minister reaffirmed his strong commitment to supporting the private sector as a key partner in driving sustainable economic growth and promoting investment in the country. The first meeting of the Nepal–Qatar Joint Business Council (JBC) was successfully held in Chandragiri, Kathmandu today. Building on the April 2024 agreement during H.H. the Amir of Qatar’s visit to Nepal, this marks an important step toward strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties. A Qatari delegation led by Mr. Mohd Ahmed M. A. Al-Obaidly, Board Member of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, met with the Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Mr. Rameshore Prasad Khanal, at his office in Singha Durbar today. The delegation is in Nepal at the invitation of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
