Christmas Movies.
1. Tie. The Godfather and Die Hard. I usually start with Die Hard and then do GF 1 and 2 back to back.
2. Trading Places.
3. This Christmas. Underappreciated classic.
4. Malcolm X. Contradictory? Yes. But it's a long movie that just hits.
5. The Wire 1-60 or Snowfall 1-60. If I'm writing over the Hollidays, both are in heavy rotation.
6. Luke Cage. Sweet Christmas! It's the gift that keeps on giving. 2 things we never got to do... a Christmas Episode and a Musical episode.

I was latchkey by 6, running errands for my grandmother in Hamden by 8 and by myself on the Deuce (42nd Street) by 14 --and that was considered sheltered. You send a 7 year old to the store now they'll call protective services on you.

I'm a veteran former Los Angeles Times reporter and staff writer. For them not to endorse a candidate is alarming. But the Washington Post? The paper that broke Watergate? Something is broken. This is not normal.
