ChangeWA is a non-partisan 501(c)(4) organization focused on advancing common sense policies around smart growth, public safety, and government accountability.

Jon Schneider, the Seahawks General Manager, understands what Washington's legislature does not: WA not having an income tax was one of our most powerful comparative advantages in attracting talent to our state from places like California and New York. That advantage is gone.

Bob, a 35-year Seattle contractor who has overseen projects worth $100 million, is leaving the city, fed up after years of dealing with homelessness, taxes, break-ins, and immigration issues. mynorthwest.com/john-curley/se…

“We have to make a lot of hard choices this year as we try to balance the budget,” said Sen. Noel Frame, D-Seattle, sponsor of the legislation, in earlier public testimony. geekwire.com/2026/big-tech-…

First, it was record breaking daycare fraud in Minnesota, with government officials possibly taking part. Now, CBS is finding widespread fake business and eldercare fraud in California, with their Secretary of State ignoring CBS and simply stating its "not our job to spot fraud". Meanwhile in Washington state...our government officials won't even admit there is the possibility of fraud, even as we've learned they can't audit hundreds of millions (to billions) of dollars in grants to businesses and NGOs. @RossPalombo | @CBSNews Article: cbsnews.com/news/californi…

Brilliant.

Thank you Jon Scholes! “We need businesses to STAY and pay taxes”… “Taxing businesses out of Seattle is not Progressive” … Look at the data slide. @MayorofSeattle is present and listening! Thank you. @downtownseattle

Washington state families with income in the bottom 20% pay 13.8% of their total income in taxes. Those with income in the top 1% pay only 4.1% of their income. We rank 50th in tax fairness. It's time to change our upside-down tax system.
