@ehfbshjs111 @whatonnetflix By doing that you eliminate the audience that is used to season 1, and reach an anime audience that doesn't really care.

@ChannelToku1 @whatonnetflix There is plenty of corny dialogue in Season 1 and that isn't a bad thing at all. And One Piece SHOULD be goofy, that's part of its appeal and what makes it One Piece. And :

B By our calculations, the sophomore season is currently tracking about 33% behind Season 1. Despite the dip, these numbers remain undeniably strong. 🔗 whats-on-netflix.com/news/top-10-re…

@ehfbshjs111 @trivialqed @whatonnetflix Marc jobst is better than him, I really hate the close up shots in episode 4, I think it's the weakest episode in season 2. Marc jobst does much better directing, episodes 1 and 2 in season 1 are by far the most good looking episodes in opla.

@ehfbshjs111 @trivialqed @whatonnetflix Season 2 did have good choreography and CGI, but the strength of season 1 was in the directing and scriptwriting. The departures of Steven Maeda and Marc Jobst really impacted the direction of this season.

@ehfbshjs111 @whatonnetflix yeah but they set the tone in season 1, go back and rewatch season 1, the dialogue isn't corny, and every scene is well shot. Season 2 feels more anime and goofy which is not a good thing cuz a lot of people turned away from season 2 because of that

@ChannelToku1 @whatonnetflix Have you ever read or watched One Piece? It is VERY goofy, and that's part of what makes this live action so good, it leans into that.

No it's not because they 3 years gap, its because season 2 is dang awfull, some of the shoot is really has no passion, the directing make this season look like theater show, and a lot of fans that like season 1 didn't like how corny season 2 was.

@Nerdrotics season 1 got 4 million viewers gary, and also season 2 saw a significant drop during the bts concert, so this shouldn't be too surprising

@Nerdrotics I think that's not the problem here. This season is definitely not for everyone, even I, as a new viewer, was a bit surprised by the anime's approach in season 2, many new viewers were not comfortable because season 1 was not as corny as season 2.

@whatonnetflix Also worth mentioning that Season 1 was at NUMBER 4 for the week, a jump up from last week where it was at Number 7 which is INCREDIBLE! So I'd say that's even bigger news and bodes very well for the future!

@trivialqed @whatonnetflix One piece & anime always beens struggling in western countries market viewership. Wednesday has far more viewership than One piece live action. Even Squid game are far more successful than One piece. One piece live action also very expensive

@ehfbshjs111 @whatonnetflix even after a drop in season 2, its numbers were still crazy, 50M in its first week more than justifies its spending its better to be realistic so that S3 can be as a successful as possible than just think everything is going well and then get surprised it doesnt get renewed

@trivialqed @whatonnetflix Season 4 is DEFINITELY happening. WhatsOnNetflix neglected to mention that Season 1 came in at NUMBER 4 pulling in over 4 million views across 33 million viewing hours That is nothing short of incredible! Last week Season 1 was at 7 with over 3 million views so it JUMPED up.

@Zoemalikz @EagleSoaring_ @G0ffThew I like season 1 but season 2 is hard to watch tbh, they should be able to adapt to the new audience who liked season 1 instead of pleasing anime fans who don't really care. Season 2 feels like completely different show tbh and not in the good way

@Z2506337384 @DanielRPK I mean they're good actor but somehow the acting in this show just get worse, the dialogue and the directing is probably the cause

@ChannelToku1 @DanielRPK The cast acts perfectly in line with their characters. They keep the fun and cartoonish vibe of the original at times, while also being able to deliver serious performances. There’s a reason Chopper’s backstory ep has a 9.2 on IMDB. It was done very well and hit emotional beats.

@AniRave if you especially look at hrs watched, Netflix's prime metric. It's nominally different. S2 is airing at a worse time, with less hype, adapting a worse set of stories than S3 will. Let them cook ffs.
