With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, the Padres mourn the passing of our beloved left-hander, Randy Jones. Randy was a cornerstone of our franchise. The CY Young Award winner, Padres Hall of Famer, and tremendous community ambassador, was a giant in our lives and will be greatly missed.

The University of California at Riverside baseball program is full of feats by teams, players and coaches. We are honored to remember and celebrate! Congrats Scott Laverty! ~ 600th career head coaching Win and 300th @ChapmanSports this past season! In 2025 he completed his 26th season as a Head Coach in @theSCIAC ~ 14 @UofRBaseball & 12 and going strong at Chapman University. The 2019 Division III National Champion with Chapman. It began at Shortstop for @ucrbsb (1992-94) making the 94’ National Championship Finals. Then his impactful coaching career started as Highlander assistant under legendary coach Jack Smitheran from 1997 to 1999. UCR Proud ⚾️ Family!
