During the course of this week took my daughter’s Boxster S out of Winter hibernation. Car lives outside. Started no problem, and after a general clean looks wonderful again. Sadly (as all paintwork original) an area lacquer has lifted on the bonnet. Taking advice re remedy.

@timdavies_uk Same for school uniform in Uk. Virtually all navy or black. Especially coats. Now relaxed in Wales but old habits.

As a new motorcyclist, I have the same issue - why is all the riding kit black? Black roads, dark hedgerows, black bikes, black kit??? I saw a guy on a black superbike, full black leathers in poor light and rain but with a pink t-shirt thrown over the top and I thought - THAT GUY UNDERSTANDS!

MMM. That's right, it's Mystery Mule Monday. And today's mystery is this weird thing, spotted near Lotus's place in Norfolk in 2007. Claimed at the time to be a hack for an upcoming VW Phaeton coupe, but I'm not convinced. For one thing, the wheelbase is way too short.

@timpitt100 Think that would have looked great with the ice grey or tan seats.

A few people asked to see inside the Emira Turbo SE. There are a few quirks (such as having to pull the shifter twice to select drive or reverse), but quality is good and the infotainment works well. Boot holds just 151 litres, but there is another 208 litres behind the seats.

@timpitt100 I’ve seen vivid red online in the US, boring dark magma red metallic here and website bit rubbish to splash over £80k on an image.

Early Christmas present: I have taken delivery of this Emira Turbo SE for the next few weeks. ‘Purple Haze’ paint colour looks more Lamborghini than Lotus – proper junior supercar vibes, I think. Anything you want to know?

@timpitt100 Nice. The red or tan or ice grey seats look great but everyone seems scared to spec them on many I’ve seen. Also, not seen a proper red Emira 🤣

@ChapSimon It’s a lot plainer inside, apart from the bright yellow seatbelts. Quality and infotainment are much better than any Lotus of old, though.

@1Percenterer The fact it’s got stuck on chrome wheel arches suggest it’s a rust bucket.

People who know more about Jaaags, how rare is this Jaguar XJ-S today? I was surprised to see one too, and it looks to be well taken care of. And I remember J. Clarkson saying its the least reliable car ever from UK.

@theintercoolerx Anything sub £3k , full mot, cheap tax, good on fuel, can fit 5, fold down seats for tip runs, ikea missions and bikes. If it can be left parked anywhere without stress it’s a bonus.
