I just saw the Jai Arrow interview by Danika Mason on Channel 9 tonight. Absolutely broke my heart. Not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn’t that .

It is a very sobering day in rugby league. To @SSFCRABBITOHS Jai Arrow & his family; we all send our love & support. Well done mate on a terrific career that included 178 NRL games & 12 origins for @QLDmaroons. Jai didn't get too many tries but I'm proud to say I called his lone career double in Gladstone in 2018. Been great to deal with in the media.

Terrible news re Jai Arrow. The most loyal, passionate, hardworking, down to earth man there is in sport. As a staunch Souths fan, I appreciate everything he sacrificed to do us proud in the Red & Green and boy did he deliver big time. One of the highlights of a difficult season last year was Jai’s passion and effort that he showcased week in, week out. This will never go unnoticed in my eyes. I will forever admire his input into our mighty club. Wishing him all the very best, he has an abundance of support around him ❤️💚 Was lucky enough to meet him in 2024.

BREAKING: Souths lock Jai Arrow has announced his medical retirement. He revealed he’s received a diagnosis relating to a nerve and neurological condition in his shoulder. Arrow played 178 games across three clubs, Brisbane, the Titans and South Sydney. He played 12 Origins for QLD.

Horrible news with Jai Arrow forced into immediate retirement due to a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Motor neurones are nerves that carry signals from the brain to the muscles. When they’re affected those signals break down, leading to progressive muscle weakness. Because MND progressively affects muscles needed for movement, it makes the physical demands of rugby league impossible to continue safely. Wishing Jai and his family all the best as he focuses on his health.
