We were so close… With just one week left of @herdinthecity this morning we woke to news that Lollie, a beautiful sculpture designed by David Maguire had been deliberately and mindlessly pushed off its plinth.

@HavensHospices The response to this news, including the appeal by @simonharris_mbd has been overwhelming. Seeing the joy it has brought to the summer of thousands of people - and knowing the money raised for @HavensHospices can pay for care in the future - makes it all worthwhile 🐘

We are now assessing the extent and cost of the damage but it is doubtful that Lollie can return to the trail. The team @HavensHospices are heartbroken that locals and tourists won’t get to see Lollie now. However, we won’t let it distract us from an incredible trail.
