Can’t believe people are actually mad about this? Wow! It kinda shows you people’s true colors but I’ll bite… For most of modern history, artistic recognition has favored white creators. That isn’t an opinion - it’s documented. Halle Berry became the first Black woman to win Best Actress Academy Award for Leading Lady & it didn’t happen until 2001. That alone shows how uneven recognition has been for a long time. The gaming industry follows the same pattern & has been widely documented as both racist & misogynistic. When people who are usually excluded or ignored create spaces to celebrate their achievements, that isn’t “division” - it’s people carving out space where they were historically ignored. This is no different than the BET Awards or the Latin Music Awards - platforms created because mainstream systems failed to acknowledge excellence outside a narrow standard. Communities honoring their culture & each other isn’t exclusionary - it happens when mainstream recognition falls short. You don’t like it? Make your own award ceremonies 🤷‍♀️
