According to Fox News, Gabbard informed Donald Trump that she will step down on June 30 after her husband was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer.
“I cannot ask him to go through this alone while I continue serving in a position like this,” she said in a statement.
Gabbard led US intelligence for a year and a half. During her tenure, she cut DEI programs, declassified hundreds of thousands of documents — including files related to the Trump-Russia investigation and the Kennedy assassinations — and created a task force to investigate the alleged “politicization” of government agencies under Biden.
