A transformer issue has disabled several traffic lights in downtown Charleston. Signals are out at Meeting & Columbus, Meeting & Line, and Rutledge between the Crosstown and Cannon. Officers are directing traffic at key intersections, please use caution and expect delays.

The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in Downtown Charleston. The parade will setup on Radcliffe Street at 9:00 a.m. At 10:00 a.m. the parade will start on King Street at Radcliffe Street and proceed south to Broad Steet and will end at the intersection of Broad Street and Legare Street. ☘️🚔 Key Times: 9:00 a.m. – Parade lineup begins on Radcliffe between Rutledge Avenue and King Street. 9:30 a.m. – King Street will be closed from Radcliffe Street to Calhoun Street. 9:50 a.m. – Road closures begin along the rest of the route. 10:00 a.m. – Parade begins. 11:30 a.m. – Estimated parade conclusion. 🚨 Vehicle access to several businesses and residences will be limited during the race. 🚨Robbery Suspects Arrested After Demanding Victims Send Money Via Venmo🚨 The Charleston Police Department arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery that occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on March 15, 2026, near Smith Street and Morris Street. Three victims reported that a vehicle approached them, and two suspects exited and demanded money and personal belongings. One victim also sent money to the suspects through Venmo during the confrontation. Using the Venmo transaction and vehicle description, detectives quickly identified a suspect and later located the vehicle in downtown Charleston on March 16, taking both individuals into custody. Melissa Ammons (53, of Orangeburg) and Gregory Noisette (37, of Charleston) were charged with one count of armed robbery and two counts of attempted armed robbery. 🚨 Crime Alert Update🚨 The Charleston Police Department has arrested a suspect connected to a series of vehicle break-ins in West Ashley that happened early this morning. After a caller reported people pulling on car door handles, officers responded and spotted two suspects nearby. When the suspects ran, A CPD K9 (K9 Jersey) and their handler, tracked one of them into the woods and also helped locate stolen property from one of the vehicles. Shaoquna Rishen Williams (29) was arrested and charged with three counts of Breaking into a Motor Vehicle and Property Crime Enhancement. 🚨Do You Recognize These Individuals? On March 1, 2026, at around 4:30 a.m. a group of suspects were observed pulling on multiple car doors and entering at least one vehicle on Radcliffe Street.
