I had my first auditory hallucination in grad school. I kept hearing “Why are you here? You don’t deserve this. Just leave.” I decided to quit school so I left class. As I waited on my shuttle a random man called out to me as “Doctor”. Told him I wasn’t a doctor. He told me I would get a doctorate in Social Work. I was like yeah, okay. He said he worked in Student Affairs and I should be in class. I told him I’m quitting and he gave me a great talk. He gave me his card and told me to email him if this happened again. I went back to class the next day. I checked with Student Affairs to thank him. They had never heard of or seen this man. The card had all the official school info on it with his name.
