Tonight I appeared on GB News to discuss the proposed social media ban for under-16s. It was a great conversation. I am, of course, strongly opposed to the ban and explained exactly why everyone else should be too. If Keir Starmer genuinely cared about young people, he would be taking decisive action against the grooming gangs. I’m confused, so let me just make sure I’ve got this right. Ann Widdecombe’s alleged murderer was arrested by counter-terrorism police, but the case is not counter-terrorism related. Nothing was stolen from her house, so it doesn’t appear to have been a burglary gone wrong. Additionally, the suspect in custody is from Rotherham, which is 270 miles away from Ann’s home, so it’s unlikely to have been a local break-in either. Have I missed anything?

The repayment has reduced the council’s debt to the lowest level in recorded history, according to officials. They say the move will save taxpayers money by cutting interest payments and freeing up more funding for frontline services. A source in the Reform council group said: "We’ve just paid off £26.9 million of high-interest debt inherited from the previous administration. As a result, Leicestershire County Council’s debt is now at the lowest level in recorded history." Reform took control of the council after becoming the largest party last year. The party says the debt reduction is part of its efforts to put the authority’s finances on a stronger footing.
