AMG Class 23-006 has been hard at work during Exam Block III! From conducting prep to fire checks last week to this week at the range; they have been learning how to advise commanders on all aspects of M1 Abrams lethality!

@designbymark When the Army changed from the 17-12 and went to the TC 3-20.31 yes the B3 swing went away, however, soon a version of that will be returning. The tank pictured is backing up to simulate changing battle positions. The M240 also appears to need a little TLC and CLP as well…

@Charlie_92_ Did they change the B3 Swing? I don’t remember backing up for each tank or the two sets of troops. N is it me, or did that sound like a 50 n not the 240? For reference, I ETS’d in ‘01

After a long day at the range for Class 23-003, SFC Tharaldsen answers questions about the fuzing system inside the M830A1 MPAT round. Master Gunner instructors remain accessible to students 24/7 to ensure all students, pass or fail, leave with the best understanding possible!

@Charlie_92_ I didn’t know the M1002 had a fuzing mechanism. I believed it was just a steel cap to represent the M830A1.

Class 23-002 has begun learning FM 7-0 specifically, Unit Training Management, from SFC Baxter. Master Gunners are key to advising Commanders and Operations Officers on planning considerations during the first step of the 8-Step Training Model!

Class 23-002 continues their journey to Master Gunners by learning whats at the core of a MG, building gunnery tables! Next door, Class 23-003 is beginning their journey with Basic Electricity! #IWILLBEAMASTERGUNNER

SFC Baxter teaching MG class 23-002 about the effects of CANT on the Abrams Tank. Understanding the Error Budget gives Master Gunners the ability to teach crews how to be more lethal and avoid and train for instances of inaccuracy.

Master Gunner students of class 23-002 continue learning during Fire Control System Day 2! A good understanding of the Abrams FCS is the foundation for understanding how the tank operates and allows Master Gunners to advise commanders on unit maintenance.

@Rogue0711 @ArmyTimes And Master gunnery is not one of the Army's toughest school. Lol. It's basically advanced AIT for tankers. Stop making it something it's not. The pre reqs are SEP TC on GT IV and that's all waiverable. Which I would bet was, like the female in Ranger school.

Exam 3 is complete and we have moved on to exam block 4 with 20/20 students! Tomorrow is the practice UTP board, and the students final exam will be on 4 October.
