Hockey media is addicted to the 1-8 format where you’d get perceived ‘fairness’ instead of guaranteed good playoff matchups.
Go look at year by year playoff brackets in the 1-8 era and have a discussion on ‘conference finals’ or ‘second round’ worthiness.

A Pacific team is going to make the Western Conference Final and at this point, it means nothing because the entire hockey world knows that none of those teams are playoff worthy, never mind CF worthy. But hey, nothing wrong with the playoff system, right Gary?

Why would it be shocking to hear positive things about Don Cherry on CBC?
Especially on Power & Politics, a balanced show where they have a conservative politician or strategist on every single time?
Conservative media literacy is quite poor even amongst conservative pundits.

Don Cherry used to work at CBC. I believe he was the highest paid person on CBC when they hosted and ran Hockey Night in Canada and that used to rankle some people. Now it’s shocking to hear good things said about him on CBC.

Finland, Czechia and Sweden are fine competing in international competitions involving the US and Israel.
We need to start holding nations wholly accountable for their political actions instead of picking and choosing who gets exiled.
